This is a single-person notebook about recording rooms rather than instruments. It exists because I kept losing scraps of paper.
What is here
Measurements, placement sketches, and the occasional admission that a recording was unusable. I write entries after the fact, so they are short and a little unfair to the room.
There is no newsletter and no comment section. If a note is wrong, it stays wrong until I get back to the same space with a microphone.
Conventions
- Decay figures
- Estimated from clap tests, not swept sine. Treat them as ranges.
- Placement
- Distances are from the nearest reflective surface, not from the source.
- Levels
- Peak, not integrated loudness, unless a note says otherwise.
