Rooms have opinions.
I record small rooms — stairwells, workshops, a tram depot on a Sunday — and write down what the space did to the sound. Mostly this site is a notebook I keep so I stop making the same mistakes twice.
Recent notes
Gear, briefly
A pair of small-diaphragm condensers, a recorder that eats batteries, and a windshield that cost more than it looks like it should. Nothing here is a recommendation.
Why the notes
Acoustics is stubbornly local. What worked in one corridor rarely transfers, so the useful part is the measurement, not the conclusion.
